REID STRATTON CHAPMAN
ASHEVILLE - Reid Stratton Chapman, 73, died, Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at home. The daughter of the late Floyd Baird Stratton and Helene Reid Singleton Bryson, she was a native of Memphis, Tenn., and had lived in Asheville since 1934.
Mrs. Chapman was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Asheville for 40 years. A volunteer at Care Partners Hospice Foundation for 18 years, she was also a former member of the Children's Welfare League, a sustaining member and past president of the Junior League of Asheville, member of the Junior Vetust Study Club and a member of the Town and Country Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Troitino Jr., whom she married in 1952. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James Edward "Jimmy" Chapman; five daughters, Teri Troitino Connelly and her husband, Harry, of Florence, S.C., Sandra Troitino Hunter and her husband, Mike, of Summerville, S.C., Susan Troitino Duncan and her friend, Ray Willis, of Asheville, Leslie Chapman Miseyko and husband, Greg, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Janice Chapman and her husband, John Anderson, of Seattle; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Doug and Belva Chapman of Titusville, Fla., and Thomas R. Troitino of Beckley, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Bonnie T. Olivera of Asheville; and seven grandchildren, Joe Edwards of Tampa, Fla., Jayme Chapman of Seattle, Max, Luke, and Lizzy Miseyko of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Kate and Will Hunter of Summerville, S.C.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Dr. Albert G. Peery, Jr. and Beth Newman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Gardner Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations may be sent to Care Partners Hospice Foundation, P.O.
