CRAWLEY ? Samuel Burns, 62, of Meadow Mountain Road, Crawley, died Sunday morning, February 8, 2009, at his home following a long illness.
Born Sept. 27, 1946, at Rainelle, he was the son of the late Leslie Given Burns.
Sammy was a retired coal miner and a farmer. His hobbies included NASCAR and collecting antique cars. He enjoyed attending antique car shows and spending time with his ?car buddies? and his family.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 44 years, Barbara Dick Burns; two loving sons, Bill Burns and wife, Amanda, of White Sulphur Springs, and Bob Burns and wife, Shelly, of Raleigh, N.C.; special brother, Robert Burns and wife, Carolyn, of Richmond, Va.; proud grandpa to four grandchildren, Macey Anna Burns, Robert Kyle Burns, Karmen Elisabeth Burns, and Coleman Samuel Burns; special friends, Raleigh and Billie Sanford, Bob Clevenger, Gary Hamrick, Bub Shaver, and Jesse Gill.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, Clintonville, with Pastor Bennie Allen officiating. Entombment will follow in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Radar, Joby Holliday, Raleigh Sanford, Bob Clevenger, Derrick Coleman, and Randy Tephabock.
