Christian County Probate Court Records:
December 22,1883; B.F.Carper produced a will attested by A.M.Caskill and James F. Cheney.
December 26,1883:B.F. Carper and James F. Cheney submit to the court for approval their Bond as Executors of the estate.
February 18, 1884: Adjustment Day and Filing Inventory; D.K. Cornell- $15.00, O.B. Squiers-$750.00 (Olin Burr Squires was the son of Elvira's brother, Daniel.)
February 25, 1884: Report of sale of real estate: W.W. Anderson sold Elvira's property in Goodrich's Addition to Taylorville on February 6, 1884 to Gulbraud Anderson(SIC) for $1,800.00.
April 18, 1884: Contested claim by Sarah McFarland.
In "Tichenor Families in America" by Harold A. Tichenor, published in 1988, it is reported that Elvira sold a 60 acre tract in Pleasant District, Preston Co., WV in 1883. She was living in Taylorville at the time...Her will provided that her property in Taylorville, Ill be sold and the proceeds to go to the Church Extension Society subject to an annuity of eight percent to her brother, Thomas Hauson Squires, for the remainder of his natural life.
In Sutton's History of Braxton County, wrote in 1919, he reported that; "More recently a church was built on Salt Lick near the mouth of Bickel's fork, called Tichnal. The widow of Moses Tichnal contributed largely to its erection."
