Cecil B. Hanson, 86, of Finksburg, died Sunday, April 16, 1995, at Carroll County General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 17, 1908, in Hughart, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles W. and Virgie Crookshanks Hanson. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna "Mary" Armentrout Hanson.
He was employed as a plumber and retired from the Baltimore County Board of Education. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Robert Pretty of Westminster, Ruby and Rev. John O. Price of Monrovia, Stella and Clyde Reece of Westminster and Kathy and Isaac Knicely of Westminster; sisters, Lona Abtey of Hudson, Fla., and Beulah Shuck of Taneytown; brother William Hanson of Finksburg; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Vicie Miller, Forrest Hanson, Clarence Hanson, Harding Hanson, Leslie Hanson and Acie Hanson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with the Rev. James F. W. Talley and Rev. John O. Price, his pastor and son-in-law, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Mt. Zion United may Methodist Church, 3006 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, Md. 21048, or to the Gamber Volunteer Fire Department, 3838 Niner Road, Finksburg, Md. 21048.
