Car accident victim, 19, dies from injuries
A Roanoke County teenager died Monday from injuries he received when he was in a car accident last week.
George Bradley Lipscomb, 19, of Bradshaw Road, died Monday at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was driving a car on Bradshaw Road about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 3 when he lost control of the vehicle, hit an embankment and was thrown from the car, Roanoke County police officer M.R. Frost said. Frost estimated Lipscomb was driving about 70 mph when the accident happened. Lipscomb was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor in the accident, Frost said.
Another person who was in the car at the time of the accident was not injured, Frost said.
Lipscomb was a graduate of Northside High School, where he won national awards for his work in the Vocational Industrial Club of America.
