NAPOLEON -- Randall (Randy) L. Akers, 58, of Napoleon, Ohio, died in a motorcycle accident Sunday, June 7, 2015.
He was born in Hinton, West Virginia, on March 27, 1957, the son of the late Everett and Linda (Lively) Akers, who survives him of Defiance. He was the husband of Rebecca (Lee) Akers. They were married Nov. 7, 1976.
Randy worked at Keller Warehouse in Defiance. He had previously worked for the Campbell Soup Company for 25 years. He enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle and his nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Rebecca; mother, Linda Akers of Defiance; grandmother, Nancy Lively of Defiance; sisters, Teresa Stahl of Melrose and Mylinda Sherry of Kentucky; brothers, Stevie (Mary) Akers of Melrose and Shawn Akers of Fort Wayne; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Akers; father and grandfather.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, 1753 S. Clinton St., Defiance, Ohio. Rev. Charles Lively will officiate. Friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Lawson-Roessner. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.

Napoleon Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash
Mon, 08 Jun 2015 16:56:17 GMT - A Napoleon man is dead following a motorcycle accident in Defiance Sunday afternoon.
Randall Akers, 58, was on a motorcycle headed east on State Route 281 just after 4pm.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Akers was attempting to pass a car in front of him when he went off the road, and eventually crashed into a ditch. Akers was pronounced dead the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
