Robert E. Akers
Final rites for Robert Edward Akers, 71, Fayetteville, Route 2, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Doggett Chapel Church at Dempsey with the Rev. Cash Brooks in charge. Burial will be in the Carter Cemetery at Dempsey.
Akers died Wednesday at his home following a heart attack.
Born May 17, 1889 in Hinton, he was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Akers, three sons, Albert of Boomer, Frank L. of Buffalo, N.Y., S. Sgt. James L. Akers, U.S. Air Force, Arabia; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ellen Akers, Fayetteville Route 1; five brothers, Roland of Portsmouth, Ohio, Herman of Fayetteville Route 1, Bedo of Summerlee, William in Michigan, Ken of Meadow Bridge; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Dempsey, Fayetteville, Mrs. Earl Hitchcock, Summersville; Miss Leona Akers, Fayetteville Route 1 and six grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville to the church one hour before the service. (RNS)
