UNION MINER GETS 5-YEAR SENTENCE
Pleads Guilty to Conspiring to Destroy Coal Tipple Near Clarksburg
CLARKSBURG; Nov. 15. - Martin Fornash, 31, a union coal miner, of Wyatt, was sentenced to serve five years in the state penitentiary, at Moundsville, yesterday by Judge John C. Southern in Harrison county criminal court, when he entered a plea of guilty to conspiring to destroy the coal tipple of the Josephine mine, a non-union operation, situated near Wyatt and operated by the Wyatt-Bingamon Coal company.
The penalty for the offense to which Fornash pleaded guilty is from two to 10 years in the state prison.
