STAUNTON - Everette Earl Brannon, 86, husband of Lional Belle (Morrison) Brannon of 34 Briarwood Circle, Staunton, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Augusta Medical Center. He was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Cass, W.Va., a son of the late Harley S. and Lula Belle (Sams) Brannon.
Mr. Brannon was a veteran of the U.S. Army; he served during World War II.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by C&O Railroad as a track inspector.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a life member of Stuarts Draft VFW Post 9339.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Marcy Brannon of York Haven, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane B. and Robert B. Jenkins of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two brothers, Harley and Sidney Brannon; three grandchildren, Bruce Brannon Jenkins, Bryan Scott Jenkins and Bridget Earlene Collins; a great-grandchild, Caleb Michael Collins; and two stepgrandchildren, Stacia Marie and Tyler William Richards.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, in Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleums and Memory Gardens, with military rites by Staunton VFW Post 2216.
Active pallbearers will be John Hartless, Rick Ellinger, Pat Flavin, Donnie Miller, Danny Sheets, Bruce Jenkins, Butch Losh and Adam Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Henry Funeral Home.
