MULLENS — Thomas Allen Milam, 74, of Mullens, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at Richmond V.A. Medical Center, Richmond, VA, following a long illness.
Born April 10, 1936, at Stephenson, he was the son of the late Clarence Milam and Sadie Mae Lester.
Mr. Milam was a former window cleaner and was well known in the Mullens community for his small engine repair. He attended the Rhodell Church of God and had been a resident of Mullens for the past 46 years. Mr. Milam served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, an infant son and Thomas Alden Milam; and a brother, James O. Milam.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Judith A. Campbell Milam; a son, Clarence William "Peanut" Milam and his wife, Melissa, of Coal City, and their children, Kenny, Michaella, and Keith; three additional grandchildren, Melissa Blankenship, Brandy Lilly, and Tiffany Milam; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George H. Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Milam Cemetery at Sand Gap.
Friends may call one hour prior to services today at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard.
