Ed Wygal, 90, of Beaver, W.Va., formerly of Oak Hill, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, W.Va.
Born Aug. 8, 1918, at Fayetteville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Creed T. and Frances Walkup Wygal.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, and received a Bronze Star. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer after 30 years of service. Ed attended the First Brethren Church in Oak Hill.
His wife, Vivian Cumbow Wygal, and two sisters, Irene Treadwell and Thelma Hamblin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Setzer and husband, David, of Barboursville and Jane Campbell of Gallipolis, Ohio, and by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Milton Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville, W.Va., with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Tyree Funeral Home.
