Kenneth Michael “Mike” Smith, 60, of Mount Hope, formerly of Danese, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 2, 2009.
Born December 7, 1947, at McRoss, he was the son of the late Joseph Charles Smith and Rose McClung Smith of Loops Road.
Mike was an auto mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Joe, and a sister, Evelyn.
Along with his mother, survivors include his wife, Marsha Morton Smith; a daughter, Sandra; a granddaughter, Rayleigh, all of Mount Hope; a son, Michael of Scranton, Pa.; four brothers, Jerry, Pete, Mark, and Tony Smith; a sister, Debra Kay Hicks; and a special niece, Crystal Schrader.
Mike will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Alan Keathley officiating. Burial will follow in the Wickline Cemetery at Meadow Bridge.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
