Esther Marie Gill, age 83, of Crab Orchard, West Virginia, formerly of Piney View, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, in her home surrounded by her family.
Born on August 16, 1927, at Lanark, she was the daughter of the late Opal Johnston. Preceding her in death was her loving husband of over 63 years, Claude Gill, as well as her son, David, by sisters, Ruby Redden, Edith McMillion, and Ann Milam; by brothers, Frank and Thomas Biggs; and a daughter-in-law, Midge Gill.
Those left to celebrate her memory are her son, Danny L. Gill of Crab Orchard. 2 Grandsons, Matthew Gill and his wife Kim of Oak Hill; Danny C. Gill and his wife Kim of Crab Orchard. A granddaughter-in-law, Kathy of Crab Orchard. 3 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Samuel, and Sydney all of Crab Orchard. A brother, Clarence Biggs of Charlotte, NC; 3 sisters, Bertha McMillion of Crab Orchard, Rita Perdue of Lookout, and Barbara Meadows of Mabscott, WV.
Mrs. Gill is also survived by special friends and caregivers, her brother-in-law Wayne Jarrett of Beckley and Melissa Howell of Beckley.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, West Virginia, on Friday, January 7, 2011, at 3 p.m. (today) with Pastor Roger Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, West Virginia. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time on Friday (today).
