INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — Betty Lee Cadle Gill, age 74, of Indian Trail, formerly of Beckley, is on her flight to Heaven, where she hopes each one of you will meet her. She began her journey on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from the Carolinas Specialty Hospital, Charlotte, N.C., following a long illness.
Born on June 3, 1937, on Farley Hill, Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Nora Smith Cadle.
Betty was a member of the North Union Church of God in Mint Hill, N.C., a former member of the Family Worship Center of MacArthur and a retired dietary aide worker at the Pinecrest Hospital in Beckley.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Cleo Gill; stepson, Billy Gill and his wife Norma, her sisters, Delores Cadle and Ruby Snow, and her brothers, Lonnie, Don and Danny Cadle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Larry Flippo and his wife Gwendolyn "Lynn" of Spartanburg, S.C.; a daughter, Vonni Davis and her husband Michael of Charlotte, N.C.; stepchildren, Lynn Moore, Jackie Sandy, George Gill, Della Gill, Ronald Gill, Roda Moore, Debra Houck, Kathy Gill, and their families; her brothers, Charles Cadle and his wife Gloria of Ironstation, N.C., Gary Cadle and his wife Debbie of Beckley; sisters, Hazel Brewer and her husband Richard of Daniels, and Patricia "Patty" Pack of Shady Spring; a sister-in-law, Loretta Justice of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a very special care giver, Tammy Harkey of Indian Trail, N.C.; not to mention numerous other family and friends who survive her.
Funeral services will be held to celebrate her life on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Doug Carpenter officiating. A private visitation for the family will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, and a public visitation from noon until the time of the service.
Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, where nephews and grandnephews will serve as pallbearers.
