ILLNESS TAKES S. T. GILKESON
SPRINGDALE, May 9 - Samuel Thompson Gilkeson, 77, a well known Fayette County farmer, died around 9 p.m. last night at his home. He had been in ill health for the past several months.
A native of Fayette County, Mr. Gilkeson was born on the farm where he has spent his entire life. He was a son of the late James and Elizabeth Gilkeson, and was born October 4, 1873.
Surviving are eight children of the first marriage, who are Stoughton E. Gilkeson, Rainelle, and Ralph M. Gilkeson, Charleston; and six daughters, Mrs. Lottie Kenny and Mrs. Carrie Smith, Rainelle; Mrs. Dora Crusse and Mrs. Madge Haynes, East Rainelle; Mrs. Lois Thornton, Ironton, 0., and Mrs. Nora Brearley, Wilmington, Del.
Other survivors include one brother, John M. Gilkeson, Ansted, and a sister, Mrs. Tava Ashley, of Corliss; 33 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside rites will be held at the cemetery near his residence Friday at 2 p.m. The body will be removed to the home from Nickell Mortuary Thursday at 2 p.m.
