Worthington, KY - June R. Phillips, 70, formerly of Alderson, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY, following a short illness.
Born Nov. 16, 1933, at Hemphill, she was the daughter of the late William and Allie Carr Runyon.
Mrs. Phillips was a retired postmaster, having retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Worthington, KY, with 22 years of service. She was a 1952 graduate of Alderson High School, Alderson, and was a member of the Worthington Church of the Nazarene, Worthington, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Scott Phillips; sister, Bonnie Runyon; and two brothers, Earl and Jack Runyon.
Survivors include: her husband: Harlan Phillips of Worthington, KY; son, Sam Phillips and wife, Julie, of Worthington, KY; two daughters, Sarah Landis and husband, Barry, of Nashville, TN, and Sally McDaniel and husband, James, of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Sean Landis, Justin Landis, April Norman and husband, Jim, and Scott Stevens; two brothers: Damon Runyon and wife, Ruby, of Gauley Bridge and John Runyon and wife, Glenna, of Hot Springs, VA; three sisters, Mozelle Yates of Hinton, Betty Holliday and husband, Bill, of Alderson, and Mary Wolf of Chesapeake, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were on Thursday, May 20, at the Phillips Cemetery on Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson, where the Rev. Gary Baker officiated.

Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson was in charge of the arrangements.
