Mr. Paul Compton Crone, 74, of Taylorsville, died Monday, Aug. 24, at his home.
He was the husband of Mary Frances Shinabeny Crone. They were married for more than 50 years.
Born June 2,1924, in Lewisburg, W.Va., he was a son of the late Jacob Crone and the late Emma Frances Clingman.
He was a farmer most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie June Burgoon and husband Scott Robert of Eldersburg; one son Eric Lee Crone and wife Rita of Berkeley Springs, WVa.; five sisters, Gertie Jones of Fisherville, Va., June Hedges of Ballard, Va., Bessie Lotts and Barbara Shifflett, both of Middlebrook, Va., and Elsie Jones of Mount Airy, eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Okey G. Crone and Jacob M. Crone; and one sister, Mrs.
Willard Kathleen McLain.
The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W Old Liberty Road, Winfield, from
7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at noon Wednesday, Aug. 26. The Rev. Norman Obensham of Maryland Line United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills.
