CHARMCO - Ida Armstrong Burr, 86, went to be with her Lord, family and friends in Heaven on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Heartland of Rainelle. Born at Corliss on April 17, 1918, she was the eldest child of Joseph B. and Truma Sevy Armstrong. Ida was a loving and caring person and she will be sadly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elson; and brothers, Howard and Lester. Before her marriage in 1943, she was an employee of Meadow River Lumber Co. Ida was a Christian and a member of Minnie Belle Baptist Church of Corliss. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Howard, and daughter, Linda Burr, of Charmco; sisters, Ruth Beitz of Beckley, Zella Knapp and husband, Clemon, of Meadow Bluff, Betty Wright of Corliss and Beatrice Cutlip of Rupert; a sister-in-law, Janet Armstrong of Corliss; former son-in-law, Dwayne Grimmett, and his mother, Pansy, and sister, Connie, of Rainelle; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville, with the Revs. Gene Bennett and Dale Dickman officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. Friends may call one hour before service Saturday at the mausoleum. There will be no evening visitation. Arrangements by Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle.
