Miss Ellen Axson Rodes Weds Florian F. Ceperley
Members of the families and a few intimate friends were present for the wedding of Miss Ellen Axson Rodes and Mr. Florian F. Ceperley, which took place yesterday morning at the First Presbyterian church.
Nuptial Music Played
Rev. Wallace M. Alston, pastor of the church, read the ceremony in a setting of gladioli and other spring flowers, lighted by tapers in standing candelabra. Mrs. Gladys T. Hover, organist, played "Ave Maria," by Schubert, and Saint-Saens' "Meditation" from "Thais" before the service. The traditional wedding
music was used for the processional and recessional.
The bride wore a costume suit of powder blue wool with a white organdy blouse and a brown turban trimmed with veiling. Brown accessories and a corsage of pink camellias completed her ensemble.
Her only attendant, Miss Mary Shears, wore a two piece yellow wool suit, a matching felt turban and brown accessories. Her flowers were Johanna Hill roses and cornflowers in a shoulder bouquet.
Mr. John Oliver of Morgantown was best man. Ushers were Messrs. Willis Brondyke and Paul Weber.
The couple left immediately after the ceremony for New York City and will visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence V. Ceperley in Oneonta, N. Y., before returning home. They will reside at 1202 Kanawha
parkway.
Mrs. Ceperley is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Rodes of Summers county and is a sister of Mrs. Edward Donnally of Oakwood road. She was graduated in home economics from Berea college in Kentucky and is secretary to Mr. Hugh Burdette, manager of Godfrey L. Cabot, Inc.
Mr. Ceperley received a degree from Cornell university, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega social fraternity and Tau Beta Pi, honorary engineering fraternity. He is an engineer at the duPont plant at Belle.
