ROCKWELL - James Forest Harrison, 75, Rockwell, died Wednesday (August 2, 2000) at his home.
Born Dec. 11, 1924, in Tazwell, Va., Mr. Harrison was a son of the late Thomas and Polly Medley Harrison. He was educated in the Virginia schools. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator in Baltimore, Md. He was a Baptist.
His first wife, Hazel Louise Crane Harrison, died Nov. 19, 1993.
Survivors include wife Mildred B. Harrison, whom he married Sept. 10, 1994; daughter Barbara Hash, Rockwell; stepson Robert Gray, Mount Pleasant; stepdaughters Shirley Wilson, Fort Mill, S.C., Brenda Shue and Betty Love, both of Concord, and Kathy Sifford, Austin,Texas; brothers Quinton Harrison, Streit, Md., Joe Harrison, Whiteford, Md., and Kenneth C. Harrison, Lake Wales, Fla.; sisters Janet Sparks, North Taswell, Va., and Martha Livesey, Frankfert, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. B.J. Hudson and the Rev. Joe Black. Burial, Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
