NUTTERVILLE ? Don O. Nutter, 75, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, following a long illness.
He was born Dec. 22, 1930, at Winona, W.Va.; he was a son of the late Delbert and Maggie McClung Nutter.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend; he will be greatly missed.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, being stationed in Bomburg, Germany. He was a disabled coal miner, a member of UMWA and a member of Nutterville Apostolic Church of Nutterville.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian Anderson Nutter; a granddaughter, Emily Amick; and a brother, Van Nutter.
He is survived by his wife, Elma, of 54 years; children, Jeanie and Frank Slusser, Donna Mae and Bill Pence, Kathy and Sam Boley, Sheila and Jimmy Amick, Rodney D. and Nancy Nutter, Wesley D. and Robin Nutter, Shawn and Cynthia Nutter, all of Nutterville; two sisters, Hope and Glen Orndorff of Carl, and Brenda and Mike Bicknell of Winfield, Ohio; two brothers, Dan and Betty Nutter of Canvas, and Jack and Paula Nutter of Wintersville, Ohio; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with the Rev. Richard Keener and the Rev. Carl Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Sugar Grove, W.Va. Graveside Military rites will be held by the VFW of Ansted and Gauley Bridge.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle.
