LOOKOUT ? Syble Holliday McClung, 87, of Lookout, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, following a long illness.
Syble was born Sept. 30, 1918, at Edmond, the daughter of the late Joseph Vaughn and Annie Haynes Holliday.
She was a member of Sunday Road Baptist Church of Hico. She was the loving mother and homemaker.
On Jan. 28, 1999, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Hilbert McClung. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Calvin McClung; sisters, Elizabeth Sebert and Aurleia Holliday; and brothers, John Holliday, Orbie Holliday, Lee Holliday and Joe Holliday.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Luikart and her husband, Bob, of Lookout; a son, James Rodney McClung and his wife, Johnnie, of Denton, Texas; brothers, Maynard Holliday of Ravenswood and Carrol Holliday of Champane, N.Y.; a special niece, Shirley Noble of Ansted; six grandchildren, Timothy Luikart and Mistey, Todd Luikart and Misty, Debbie Shumate and Jim, Daniel McClung, Michael McClung and Elisabeth McClung; and nine great-grandchildren, Katie Alverez, Tanner Alverez, Benjamin Luikart, Ryland Luikart, T.J. Luikart, Mackenzie Luikart, Jacob Luikart, Rachael Shumate and Nathan Shumate.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Sunday Road Baptist Church, Hico, with Pastor Allen Donaldson officiating. Entombment will follow in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks and prayers to the staff at Fayette Nursing and Rehab Center at Fayetteville for the love and compassion shown to Syble for the last year and a half.
