WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS - Dana Carol McClung, 69, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Heartland of Rainelle following a long illness.
Born Dec. 26, 1936, at Adair, she was the daughter of Tressie Pearl Adkins of Clay County and the late George Washington Adkins.
Mrs. McClung was a homemaker and a cook at various restaurants in the White Sulphur Springs area. She was a member of the White Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Alden McClung; and a sister, Gayla Elaine Adkins.
Other survivors include two sons, Thomas Dale McClung and wife, Phyllis Elaine, of Pence Springs, and Warren M. McClung of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Donvil E. Adkins and wife, Dorma, and Delbert S. Adkins and wife, Louetta, all of Dog Run, and Damon G. Adkins and wife, Joy, of Oak Hill; five sisters, Zella Rhodes and husband, Rolin, of Buchannon, Erma Scott and husband, David, Cathy Scott and husband, Harold, Loretta Salisbury and husband, Gary, and Shirley Rhodes and husband, Hansford,
all of Dog Run; four grandchildren, Thomas D. McClung Jr., Casandra, Courtney and Jordynn McClung; and a great-grandson, Jason Alexander McClung.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joe Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery at Mt. Lookout.
Brothers and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
