  Beckley Register-Herald, Beckley, WV, Online Edition, 20 Nov 2012 MEADOW BRIDGE — Verta Lou Jones Pomeroy, 86, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home following a long illness. Born June 25, 1926, in Springdale, she was the daughter of the late Beury and Lula Hunter Jones. Verta was a homemaker and a member of Beelick Knob Tabernacle Church of Meadow Bridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Pomeroy Jr; a son, Darrell Wayne Pomeroy; and four brothers, Thelmar, Harry, Grover and Calvin Jones. Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter-in-law, Carol Pomeroy of Meadow Bridge; a sister, Edna Morris of Meadow Bridge; two grandsons, Michael Wayne Pomeroy and wife, Patty and Rodney Dean Pomeroy; three great-grandchildren, Felicia, Dillon, and Madison; as well as eight nieces and seven nephews. Services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Rev. Sherman McCombs officiating. Burial will follow at the End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call one hour prior (noon to 1 p.m.) to the service. There will be no evening visitation. Arrangements by Wallace & Wallace of Rainelle.
