George Auldon Blagg, age 82, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Wednesday evening, March 22nd, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
A Celebration of Life gathering took place on Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home Millersburg, Ohio from 6 to 8 p.m. where friends and family were given the opportunity to share memories at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place 1 p.m. Tuesday March 28, 2017 at the Waterloo Church in French Creek, West Virginia with Pastor Wease Day officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will follow in the Waterloo Cemetery, where Military Rites will be conducted by the Upshur County Honor Guard. He was born October 7th, 1934 in Braxton County, West Virginia and was the son of Henry and Ollie (Cowgar) Blagg. George worked for Union Drilling Oil Company, Sam Jack Drilling and was a foreman at Falcon Drilling. He also loved hauling Amish. George was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in the 11th Airborne division. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, was a championship horseshoe thrower and he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by 10 children, Gail Stump of Napier, West Virginia, George "Speedy" Blagg of Big Bend, West Virginia, Ed (Terry) Blagg of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Judy (Mike) Posey of Newport, Tennessee, James "Mooney" (Susan) Blagg of Killbuck, Ohio, Kavy (Dave) Kelly of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Desirae Blagg of Lexington, Kentucky, Georgetta Blagg of Millersburg, Ohio, Dustiny Blagg (Troy Majzer) of Killbuck, Ohio and Belinda (Bill) Brannon of Nashville, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and one more on the way. He is also survived by the mother of his three youngest children, Linda Bowman of Lexington, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his eldest children, Mildred Faye Blagg; a son-in-law, Tom Stump; a great-grandson, Gabriel Storm Mayo; three brothers, Hanse, Eli and Cardon "Cubby" Blagg; and two sisters, Etta Tenney and Shirley Blagg.
