DANESE - Joseph Curtis Fox Sr., 51, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, of injuries received in an automobile accident in College Town, Pa.
Born March 25, 1950, in Maplewood, he was the son of Thelma Pittsenbarger Fox of Maplewood and the late Andrew Earl Fox Sr.
Mr. Fox graduated from Meadow Bridge High School in 1968 and served in the Army National Guard for six years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. He was employed by Angelo Iafrate Construction Co. in College Town as project engineer. He worked as a surveyor and a highway construction engineer the past 30 years throughout West Virginia and surrounding states.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie and Freda; and a nephew, David Allen Chrisman.
Other survivors include his wife, Paula Jean Tolley Fox; his mother-in-law, Alice Tolley of Landisburg; three sons, Joseph C. "Joey" Fox Jr. and his wife, B.J., of Layland, George Fox of Mabscott and Joseph Young at home; a daughter, Terri Michele Fox Vandall and her husband, Scott, of Jane Lew; two granddaughters, Ashley and Erica Vandall; two brothers, Andrew Earl "Bob" Fox Jr. and his wife, Rose Marie, and John Fox Sr. and his wife, Anna, all of Maplewood; five sisters, Juanita Donelow and Cynthia Smith of Maplewood, Lena Ward and her husband, Todd, of Beckley, Deloris "Lorie" Maynard and her husband, Arnold, of Pax and Ruth Fleshman and her husband, Roger, of Beckley; 20 nieces, Thelma Donelow Hickman Shumate, Cynthia "Lanie" Donelow Jones, Lynda Donelow Chrisman, Cecilia Smith Crist, Becky Fleshman Elswick, Sheryl, Beverly and Melissa Fleshman, Brenda Fox, Patricia Fox Acord, Monica Fox Hogg, Vivian Fox Meadows, Diane Fox Critchley, Glenda Fox Dilly, Heather Fox, Kassandra Fox, Angela Ward Cole, Angela Maynard Long, Loretta Maynard Dover and Karen Fox Stover; 12 nephews, Johnny Fox Jr., Tim Fox, Roger Dale and Michael Fleshman, Arnie Maynard, Dwayne, Jeremy and Jonathan Ward, David, Leon-ard, Charles and William Fox; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at House of Prayer, Charmco, with the Rev. Richard Barker officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Chrisman. Burial will follow in Layland Cemetery.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour before service Monday.
Nephews serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Fox Jr., Roger Dale Fleshman Jr., Arnie Maynard, Tim Fox, Loran David Jones Jr., Kevin Jones, Jason Jones and Armic Bunch.
