Carl J. Loudermilk
CLINTONVILLE - Carl J. Loudermilk, 80, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at his home in Clintonville following a long illness.
Born Sept. 4, 1923, in Clintonville, he was the son of the late Andy and Sally Loudermilk.
Mr. Loudermilk was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways in Crawley, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the VFW, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Clintonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Thurmond, Clarence and a baby; two sisters, Ardena and Carrie of Clintonville; and a grandson, Denver Loudermilk.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elaine Wiseman Loudermilk; four daughters, Darlene Piercy and husband, Maynard, of Belews Creek, N.C., Ann Loudermilk of Indianapolis, Ind., Alice Marie Sears and husband, Bill, of Greenfield, Ind., and Barbara Clower and husband, Steve, of Clintonville; three sons, Jerry Combs and wife, Evelyn, of Cleveland, Ohio, Denny Loudermilk and wife, Jackie, of Clintonville and Dave Loudermilk and wife, Robin, of Clintonville; two sisters, Eva Shortridge of Clintonville and Edna Lilly of McRoss; two brothers, Arvel Loudermilk of North Carolina and Ralph Loudermilk of Meadow Bluff; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Church of Christ, Clintonville, with Steve Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
