GEARY FARMER IS SHOT ACCIDENTALLY

GEARY, Okla., June 20. - Earl Squires, farmer 35 years old, living seven miles south of Geary was shot and instantly killed late Saturday evening near his home when a shotgun he was placing in his automobile was accidentally discharged, according to Chief of Police Cash of Geary.

Squires had stopped his car and shot a rabbit, and it was while replacing the gun in the car that it was discharged, the charge entering his body in the region of the heart. Passers by found the body soon after the accident.

OBITUARY

W. E. Squires was born Oct. 5th., 1885 in Baxter County, West Virginia, and died June 18, 1921 at the age of 35 years, 8 months, 13 days.

In the year 1905 he moved to Geary with his parents and since the spring of 1909 he has lived on the place where he died.

In 1909 he was married to Irena Waller, who died on the 7th. day of March, 1919.

To this union were born 4 girls, of whom 3 are living one child having died in infancy.

In 1910 he was converted and joined the Christian church with which he remained affiliated until his sudden death, caused by the accidental discharge of his gun.

He was engaged to be married to Miss. Amanda Klee of Kansas City, Mo., who with his father, mother, three children, two brothers, one sister, many relatives and a host of friends mourn is premature and sudden death.

Mr. Squires was a man of sterling worth and character, who was loved and respected by every one who knew him.

The funeral services were held in the Christian Church, conducted by Rev. H. Riesen.
