Jack Edward Cozart, 72, of Beaver, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010.
Born October 8, 1937 in Glen White, W.Va., he is the son of the late Freda Cozart Balaskey.
Jack enjoyed socializing at the Flea Market, 4-wheeling, and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always ready to help someone. He was a welder and electrician in the coal mines. Jack belonged to The Gospel Chapel Church in Daniels. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
In addition to his mother, Jack is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Elaine Cozart and Uncle Gove Cozart.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Allean Cozart; daughter, Donna Spence and husband Roger of Pax, W.Va. and their children Caleb McKinney and Joshua McKinney and finance Heather Showalter and expecting 1st great-grandson in July affectionately known by "Pa" as "little booger", James Edward McKinney; son Brian Cozart and wife Suziette of Benson, N.C. and their daughter Tanna Cozart; sister-in-law Carol Linville and her family also his faithful canine companion J.J. and a host of friends and extended family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Luke Richmond, Rev. Eddie McNeely and Pastor Dean Adams officiating.
Jack will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Donnie McKinney, Gary Phillips, Jimmy Harper, Jimmy Farley, Darrel Payne and Dwight Smith.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Oak Hill VFW Post 3110.
Friends may gather with the family Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV.
