Raymond Ira Blagg, 84, of Beaufort, a retired Marine master sergeant, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, in Summit Place of Beaufort.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Beaufort National Cemetery.
Mr. Blagg was born April 11, 1921, in Calumet, Okla., a son of the late Harrison Ira Blagg and Blanche Ridenour Blagg.
He served in the Marines for more than 20 years, was with the 2nd Marine Battalion during World War II. He was awarded numerous medals, including the WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Area, American Defense, Korean Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He lived in Beaufort for 50 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou Brewton of Hardeeville and Ann Blagg Lewis of Hopkins; a brother, Cameron Arthur Blagg of Walsenberg, Colo.; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Blagg.
