HICO — Mary M. Crookshanks, 80, of Hico, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, following a long illness.
Mary was born July 26, 1930, in Rainelle, WV; she was a daughter of the late Emory and Oma Fleshman Daff.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Nutter and Harold Daff.
Mary was a member of Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church of Hico, a member of the Pythian Sisters of Ansted and the VFW Auxiliary of Ansted; she was a previous clerk of the former Meadow River Lumber Co. of Rainelle. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are her husband, John Crookshanks of Hico; a daughter, Sheila Schuster and Robb of Wooldridge, Mo.; sons, Charles Crookshanks and his companion, Barbara, of Hico, Gary Crookshanks of Wooldridge, Mo.; sister, Launa Holliday of Charmco; brothers, Earl Daff of Martinsburg, Charles Daff of Pueblo, Colo., Emory Daff of Orangeburg, S.C., Darrell Daff of Richmond, Ky.; and a granddaughter, Anna Schuster.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Pastor James Dempsey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Rest Mausoleum in Victor.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Ansted.
