Crane died at his home near Big Clear Creek, of "la grippe," on Tuesday, April 1st, aged about 61 years. He came to Greenbrier when quite young from Baltimore, Md. He volunteered in the Greenbrier Sharpshooters of Meadow Bluff district as a private in Capt. Brown's company F., 27th Virginia Regiment, Stonewall Brigade. He was a brother of Capt. Joseph S. Crane, of this place. May he rest in peace.
