Emma Faye Hines, 78, of Canvas died Feb. 27, 1996, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Summersville. Surviving: husband, Fred R. Hines; sons, Fred Russell Jr. of Manassas, Va., Johnny L. of Culpeper, Va., Roger D., James W., Jerry A., and Charles D., all of Canvas; daughters, Barbara A. Bayless and Sharon L. Smith, both of Huntington, Frances E. Spinks and Karen F. McCutcheon, both of Summersville, Janet L. Hines of Charleston; brothers, Vernon Amick of Summersville, Arless Amick of Victor, Johnny Amick of Waco, Texas; sisters, Olinee Rader and Marie Amick, both of Canvas, Golda Shanahan of Bowie, Md., Opal Kiser of Sarasota, Fla., Annie Mundy of Charleston; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, Summersville, with the Rev. Bud Truman and the Rev. Johnny L. Hines officiating. Burial will be in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home, Summersville.
