St. Robert, Missouri - Max Hamilton Bryars, Jr., (First Sgt.-Retired), 42, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 26, 2007, as the result of a vehicle accident, near Dixon, MO.
Born June 7, 1965, in West Palm Beach, FL, he was the son of Judy Lane Highlander Bryars of Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson, and the late Max H. Bryars, Sr.
Mr. Bryars had been a resident of St. Robert for eight years and was formerly of Alderson. He was a member of the Alderson Church of the Nazarene, Muddy Creek Mountain, and a graduate of Greenbrier East, Fairlea, in 1983. He was a member of the Rainelle Reserve Unit, retired from the U.S. Army as a First Sgt. with 22 years of service, with two tours of duty in Korea, drill instructor in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, for two years, and had several awards and medals presented to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max H. Bryars, Sr. and his grandparents.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna Marie Walkup Bryars of St. Robert, MO, who he married on July 13, 1987, in Alderson; two daughters, Taylor Renae Bryars and Jennilynn Bryars, both of St. Robert, MO; his mother, Judy Bryars of Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson; two sisters, Kathy Krafft and husband Bill of Muddy Creek Mountain, and Billie Jo Quintier of West Palm Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Alderson Church of the Nazarene, Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson, with Rev. Edward Midcap officiating,
Longanacre Funeral Home, Fort Spring, is in charge of the arrangements.
