  The Beckley Post-Herald, Friday, 5 May 1939 ROBERT L. MILAM CLAIMED BY DEATH Saxon Man Succumbs To Illness At Local Hospital Robert L. Milam, 68 years old, of Saxon, died in a local hospital Wednesday night after an illness of six months. Death was attributed to complications. Born at Saxon on August 9, 1870, he was the son of Russell Milam and Mrs. Nacissus Milam. He is survived by his widow, Mars. Launa Alice Milam, of Saxon; one son, A. A. Milam, Glen Daniel; three daughters, Mrs. Elson Daniel, Bolt; Mrs. Garnett Arnold, Saxon; and Mrs. George Hendrix, of Naoma; and three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Daniel, Glen Morrison; Mrs. Elmire Lucas, Saxon; and Mrs. Pathena Arnold, Prosperity. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A member of the Methodist church, Mr. Milam was a farmer and retired business man. Funeral services will be comducted at Saxon Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. T. J. Williams, Lester; the Rev. James Godby, Harper; and the Rev. Frank Reed, Glen Daniel. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
