ALEXANDER S. BANTON, 73, OF Beards Fork, died July 13, 1991, in Montgomery General Hospital, Montgomery, of a long illness. He was a member of Page Baptist Church, near Beards Fork. He was past treasurer of Lupe Creek Volunteer Fire Department, member of American Legion, Civilian Conservation Corps, and past president of Athletic Boosters of Gauley Bridge High School. He was retired from Union Carbide Metal Co., Alloy. Surviving: wife, Lockie Crane Banton; daughters, Myrna Van-Der-Spuy of Hampton, Va., Angela Fernandez of Beards Fork; son, Steve of De Land, Fla.; sisters, Mary Anna Church and Florence Loudermilk, both of Lewisburg, Betty Oliver of Fairlea, Nina Martin of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Sandy G. Jr. of Fairlea, Samuel of Otto; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Page Baptist Church. Friends may call from noon until time of service at the church. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe and the Rev. Lloyd Higenbotham officiating . BURIAL WILL BE IN WALLACE MEMORIAL CEMETERY, CLINTONVILLE. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
