WETZEL WALKUP, 77, OF LESLIE, GREENBRIER County, died Jan. 22, 1991, in Princeton Community Hospital after a short illness. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired miner and a member of VFW. He was a Protestant. Surviving: wife, Helen Hizer Walkup; daughters, Sandra Bostic and Mary Jo Persinger, both of Sterling, Va., Sharon McClung of Lovetteville, Va., Shelby Salisbury of Manassas, Va., Debra Ailstock of Rupert, Joan Jupin of Franklin, Pa.; son, William Clarence of Sterling; sisters, Lucille Campbell of Canvas, Lolita Wilt and Louise Cale, both of Rainelle, Lenora Elmore of Los Angeles, Lynda Wyatt of Madill, Okla.; brother, Oswald of Statesville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will be in Orient Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
