Charlotte Marie (Crane) Boothe, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Born on April 17, 1936, the youngest of 15 children, Charlotte, known to many as Marie, loved the Lord and was a member of Mountain Baptist Church in Carl, West Virginia. She proudly served the Federal Government as an employee of the National Institute of Health until her retirement in 1999 when she left to care for her sister. She enjoyed cookouts, spending time with her large family, and was a true lover of animals.
She was the daughter of the late Tony L. Crane and Alzina L. Crane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and eight sisters.
Survivors include her son, Donald Boothe (Griselda) of Tuxtla, Mexico; daughter, Teresa Gray (Don) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and four grandchildren, Brian Gray (Karlee), Christina Ramos (Richard), Michelle Peterson (Robert), and Michael Gray. In addition to her grandchildren, she was blessed with seven great-grandchildren who she loved and adored, Eryn Ramos, Christian "CJ" Ramos, Gabriela Ramos, Nicholas Gray, Ash Gray, Emily Peterson, and Caitlin Peterson; a step-great-grandson, Carlos "Charlie" Turral; and of course, her sweet kitty, Buddy, who misses her terribly.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
A second visitation will be held at 12 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, West Virginia. Service will be 1:00 with Pastor Reggie Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the SPCA in honor of her love for animals and would be greatly appreciated.
