  The Charleston Daily Mail, 24 April 1970 Rainelle Man Takes Life With Shotgun RAINELLE - A 70-year-old Greenbrier County man died of a self-inflicted wound, state police said here today. The body of Charles Claude Martin, a retired farmer, was found yesterday by a nephew in an abandoned house across the street from his home at Vale. Police said he died of a shotgun wound of the chest. He is survived by his wife, Ora. Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Don Smathers Funeral home here, with the Rev. Roy B. Kessler, officiating. Burial will be in the Frantz Cemetery at Dawson. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
