SWEET HOME - Funeral for Harold B. "Bill" Stump, 64, 1232 Clark Mill Road, who died Friday of an apparent heart attack near Roseburg, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tracewell Funeral Home with Elder Cleo Thompson officiating. Interment follows at Gilliland Cemetery.
He was born July 22, 1910 in Nicholas County, W.Va., where he was reared and received his education. He worked in the logging and lumbering industry in West Virginia.
He and his wife, Helen, came to Sweet Home in 1948. He worked in the woods as a faller and bucker for Fall Creek Logging Co. and later was self-employed as a cabinetmaker at Bill's Cabinet for many years.
The couple was in Roseburg delivering merchandise when he became ill.
In addition to his widow, survivors include a son, George of Winchester, Va.; a daughter, Myrtle Thompson of Colliers, W.Va.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. - (Research):Harold Stump was never married to Sarah Jane King. Betty is illegitimate.
Harold was also illegitimate, and his name may be Barnhouse. He was adopted
by George Stump (father of Harry W. Stump).
