HALEY FUNERAL IS PLANNED AT HOME
Clear Creek Man Dies After Attack Of Pneumonia
Funeral services for Henry V. Haley, 71 years old, who died at his home at Clear Creek Monday morning of pneumonia following an illness of three weeks, will be held by Rev. G. Dosier at the residence this afternoon at two o'clock. Burial in charge of Tyree and Dew Undertakers will be made in the Pax cemetery.
A native of Virginia, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Haley, of Clear Creek, and the following children: Mrs. Nora Berry, East Beckley; Mrs. Ethel Berry, Fireco; Mrs. Virginia Phipps, Meadow Bluff; Mrs. Cara Worlds, Beckley; John Haley, Crab Orchard; Mrs. Minnie Acord, Glen White; Miss Goldie Haley, and Harold Haley, both of Clear Creek. A brother, Alonzo Haley, of Pulaski, Virginia, is also living.
- (Research):Henry V. Haley was living in Quinnimont District, Fayette Co., WV in the 1900 census. Based upon families living nearby (Backus, Fox, particularly Charles A. Fox, JOP), I have estimated his residence to be near Crickmer or Clute. The Hawley Coal Co. (Meadow Bridge) is a possibility for H.V.H.'s place of work. There appears to have been a sawmill and railroad close by his residence as well.
In the 1920 Census, Henry V. Haley was living with his family on Willis Branch Road. It seems likely that he would have been employed at Willis Branch Coal Co.
