LEWISBURG - Garland Calvin Crane, 77, of Lewisburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.
Mr. Crane was born Aug. 22, 1927, at Esty, and was the son of the late Eddie E. and Bessie Viers Crane.
He was of the Primitive Baptist Faith, a member of the National Rifle Association, a heavy equipment mechanic for construction and mining industries, and was a National Guard veteran.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ina Franklin and Irene Cohenour; four brothers, Bradford Crane, Gerald Crane, Orval Crane and Alstin Crane; a stepdaughter, Carmen Ratliff; and a stepgrandson, Bobby McCallister.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Burns Crane; a daughter, Janet Alderson and husband, Frank, of Asbury; three sons, Wayne Crane and wife, Gale, of Alderson, Brad Crane and wife, Mona, of Alderson and Steve Crane and wife, Joyce, of Williamsburg, Va.; two sisters, Christina Mills of Lafayette, Ind., and Maycel Williams of Frankford; two brothers, Lanford Crane and wife, Sharon, of Lewisburg and Harold Crane and wife, Carol Jean, of Lewisburg; two stepdaughters, Deanna McCallister and husband, Lewis, of Alderson and Charlotte Ann "Tottie" Falls and husband, Tommy, of Lewisburg; a stepson, Johnny Burns and wife, Doris, of Lewisburg; stepson-in-law, Glenville Ratliff of Ronceverte; 11 grandchildren, a great-graddaughter, 10 stepgrandchildren, 12 stepgreat-grandchildren and a stepgreat-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside rites will be 11 a.m. Monday at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, with Elder Tim Crane officiating.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
