Cecil C. Crane, 70, York, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Fairy Beck Crane.
Mr. Crane was born in Greenbriar, W.Va., a son of the late Harry and Della Hanna Crane.
He was a reited employee of American Chain and Cable Co., where he worked for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1971.
Mr. Crane was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the South End Democratic Club and York Post 556, VFW.
Survivors include seven children. Robert Beck, Mrs. Jean Grissinger, Carl Crane, Jerry Crane, all of York; Mrs. Joyce Bassin, East Berlin R. 1; Mrs. Beverly Keener, and Larry Crane, both of York; a foster son, William Taylor, at home; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There are also seven
brothers; Henry, York; Samuel, Jacobus; Walter, Dover R. 5; Wilford, East Berlin; Jack, York County;
James, Dillsburg R. 2; and five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Lewis, Greenbriar, W.Va.; Mrs. Mildred Spangler, Dover; Mrs. Margie Drawbaugh, Newberrytown; Mrs. Ruby Holtzapple, York; and Mrs. Ora Osborne, York.
Rev. W. Leigh Bell, pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, will officiate at the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
