Harold D. King
SHINNSTON - Harold David King, 69, of Route 2, Bridgeport, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, in the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center, Clarksburg, following and extended illness.
He was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Meadowbrook, a son of the late Ernest E. King and Mary "Maggie" Rector King McIntyre.
His wife, Frances Henigin King, whom he married April 16, 1973, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nick (Shelley) Sears, Route 2, Bridgeport, and Crystal Ann King, Ocean City, N.J.; one son, Michael David King, Alaska; one brother, Paul King and one sister, Mrs. James (Jacqueline) Rogers, both of Ocala, Fla.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Jennings McIntyre.
Mr. King retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Following his retirement, he worked for Monumental Supply Company in Baltimore, Md., with 10 years of service.
Friends will be received from 6 - 9 p.m. today and after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dorsey Funeral Home, Shinnston. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Homer Ham officiating. Interment will follow in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
