Mrs. Maxie Deitz Egnor, 56, a teacher at a Huntington junior high school and former St. Albans resident, died Thursday in a Huntington hospital after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 24, 1911, in Greenbrier County, she was a duaghter of the late George and Betty Heaster Deitz. She was a graduate of St. Albans High School and Marshall University and had lived in Huntington since 1934.
Survivors include her husband, L. D. Egnor, co-owner of Egnor's Barber Shop; sons, L. D. Egnor, Jr., a Huntington attorney, and Max L. Egnor, a Huntington accountant; sisters, Mrs. Ollie Belville of Detroit, Mrs. Georgie Sumner of Mount Hope, Mrs. Nina Mankin of South Charleston, Mrs. Louise Teubner of Huntington and Mrs. Lovie Puckett of Springdale, W. Va.; four brothers, Ted Deitz of Covington, Va., Dudley Deitz of Springdale, Wallace Deitz of Barbarton, Ohio, and George Deitz of Huntington; three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary in Huntington and burial will be in Woodmere Cemetery there.
