REV. KERMIT HUNTER
Funeral services for the Rev. Kermit A. Hunter, 66, of Rainelle, who died Saturday, Nov. 2, in a Salem, Va. hospital, were held Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Big Sewell Baptist Church, Dr. Douglas Hill, the Rev. James Crouch and the Rev. Mike Long officiating. Burial was in the Sims Cemetery, Rainelle.
Born March 18, 1919, at Rainelle, son of George W. Hunter of Rainelle and the late Bessie Irene Osborne, her was a World War II veteran, member of Big Baptist Church, pastor of churches for the last 26 years, serving as moderator for Hopewell Baptist Association on the ordination committee and was a retired mine worker and farmer.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Maybelle Sims Hunter; two daughters, Wanda Nedbal of Alexandria, Va., and Judy Meadows of Rainelle; two sons, the Rev. Hermit Hunter Jr. of Rainelle and Daniel Hunter of Burlington, N.C.; four sisters, Edna Hobbs and Bonnie Knapp, both of Rainelle, Garnet Cox of Ulrichsville, Ohio, and Betty Fleshman of Chesapeake, Va.; two brothers, Kenneth Hunter of Rainelle and Quintin Hunter of Chicago, Ill., and eight grandchildren.
Wallace - Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, had charge of arrangements.
