  Daily Press, Newport News, VA, Sunday, 23 Sep 2007, p.B7, col.1 HAMPTON - Llewellyn "Lew"Hunter, 83,passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Sept.21, 2007. Lew retired from the U.S.Air Force after 20 years of service.He also retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 18 years. Lew loved his family and friends.He spent most of his life tinkering on home projects and raising his doves. One of his favorite summertime activities was attending local fish fries hosted by his many fisherman friends. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Eileen M.Hunter; children, Gary Hunter, Deborah Adkins and her husband, Stuart, Mark Hunter and his wife,Vicky Hunter, Denise Jonas and her husband, Duke, all of Hampton, and David Hunter and his wife, Darlene, of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren, Justin Barrack, Bryan Hunter, Angela Rice, Jeremy Tillem, Christina Hunter and Jared Jonas; and two great-grandchildren. At the request of Lew, the family will have a private memorial service. Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive in Hampton, 825-8070.
