RUPERT -- Mary Hunter Deitz, 84, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Heartland of Rainelle, following a short illness.
Born Aug. 15, 1920, at Kieffer, she was the daughter of the late Garner and Mae Towne Crane Hunter.
Mrs. Deitz was a school teacher and a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church at Kieffer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wittley James Deitz in 2001; two sons, Bruce Wayne Deitz and James Arnold Deitz; a sister, Louise Corsaro; and three brothers, Grover, James and Earl Hunter.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara D. Tharp and husband, Robert D., of Kieffer and Anna M. Hagy and husband, Thomas W., of Rupert; a sister, Hattie Remley of Rupert; a brother, Llewlyn Hunter of Norfolk, Va.; and five grandchildren, Jeffrey and Safina Hagy, Christina Tharp Honnert, Gregory Tharp and Jaime Allison Deitz.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Pastor Gary Eisenman officiating. Burial will follow in the Burns Cemetery at Kieffer.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle.
