Slate Fall Victim's Rite Is Saturday
RAINELLE - Service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday for a 53-year old Greenbrier County man who was killed Wednesday in a slate fall.
Grover Garner Hunter, of nearby Rupert, was killed at Browns Creek Coal Co. mine near Jetsville in Nicholas County.
He was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Margie; daughters, Mrs. Patricia Bika of Rupert, Mrs. Maxine Holliday of Troy, Ohio; son, Ernie at home; mother, Mrs. Mary Crane Hunter of Rupert; sisters, Mrs. Louise Corsaro of Athens, Greece, Mrs. Hattie Remley of Rupert, Mrs. Mary Deitz of Kessler; and brothers, James of Rupert, Earl of Hyattsville, Md., and Lewellyn of Hampton, Va.
Service will be at the Don Smathers Funeral Home here with the Rev. Leroy Crane and the Rev. Henry O. Loving officiating. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery at Kieffer.
Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
