PETERSTOWN — Myrtle Catherine Flint Price Chinault, age 97, of Peterstown, went to her reward in Heaven, Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Princeton Health Care Center, Princeton, W.Va.
Born July 14, 1912, at Grassy Meadows, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Ballard and Catherine Florence Burns Flint.
Ms. Chinault graduated from Smoot High School class of 1931.
Coming to Peterstown from Hico, Fayette County, in 1973, she was a homemaker, a member of the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church, former member of Sunday Road Baptist Church, Hico, W.Va., and the Maudes Chapel United Methodist Church, Dawson, W.Va. Ms. Chinault was a faithful Democrat and had never missed an election since voting age. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, reading and working cross word puzzles. Ms. Chinault was also a member of the Home Extension Club for over 50 years. Most of all she loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Amos Andrew Price, in 1953 and her second husband, John Thomas Chinault, in 1982, one sister, Bertha Flint Osborne, and two brothers, David and Thomas Flint.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Andrew Price and wife Betty of Lynchburg, Va., William Eugene Price and wife Betty of Aberdeen, N.C., and Don Keith Price and wife Linda of Fayetteville, W.Va., two daughters, Frances Price Haga of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Phyllis Price Mann-Roberts and husband Kenneth of Washington Court House, Ohio; three stepsons, Calvin E. Chinault and wife Wimpy, Melvin M. Chinault and wife Margaret and Mason G. Chinault and wife Phyllis, all of Peterstown, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Margie Runions and husband Tom of Roanoke, Va., and Norma Jean Hall and husband Austin of Dublin, Va.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 33 great-stepgrandchildren, 10 great-great-stepgrandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with Pastor Jonathan Jennings officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. in the At the End of the Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, W.Va.
Friends may call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the funeral home.
